Usage-Based Refund Policy

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase of DriveSmart. Our usage-based refund policy ensures fair treatment for both you and our team by linking refund eligibility to the consumption of key platform features. All payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record.

1. Eligibility

  • Refunds are available only within 14 days of the initial subscription purchase.
  • Full Refund: A full refund is available only if the user's total usage remains below 5% of the features or data allotted for the subscribed plan.
  • Proportional Refund: If usage falls between 5% and 20% and is still within the 30-day window, refunds are calculated proportionally based on the unused portion of the subscription (see Section 3).
  • No Refund: If usage exceeds 20% of the subscription value, no refund will be issued, as substantial value has already been consumed.

2. How Usage is Measured

Usage is calculated based on the consumption of DriveSmart’s premium and high-value features. This includes:

  • Reports Generated: The number of reports or analyses run.
  • Data Access: The volume of high-value data retrieved or accessed.

Example: If your subscription includes 100 monthly reports, the 5% threshold equals 5 reports.

3. Refund Calculation (Proportional)

If a user has utilized more than 5% but less than 20% of their subscription value and is within the 30-day window, the refund is calculated proportionally:

Refund Amount = Purchase Price × (1 − Percentage of Usage)

Example: If you have used 15% of your available reports, your refund will cover the remaining 85% of the purchase price.

4. Refund Process

To request a refund, contact us at billing@drivesmart.co.bw within the eligible period.

  • Include your account email and the reason for your request.
  • Our team will verify your usage logs and eligibility immediately upon receiving your request.
  • Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method (via Paddle) within 7–10 business days.

5. Exceptions and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds will not be granted for:

  • Subscription renewals.
  • Misuse, abuse, or sharing of accounts.
  • Expired refund eligibility period (after 14 days).
